Call For Papers
IMBC has released a call for presentations for the 2013 conference. Click here for the proposal form, submission guidelines, and information about IMBC's audience. Proposals are due by May 31, 2012. For 2013, breakout sessions will fall into three tracks: coastal, inland, and boatyard. For each of these areas, IMBC is looking for technical content in the tracks of operations, emergency response, construction, and legal issues / leased land issues. General seminars, presented at plenary time slots, should appeal to IMBC's entire audience. Suggested general seminar topics include revenue generation, expense management, marketing, management, customer service, environmental updates, human resources, marine law, etc.
IMBC Audience:
- Marina managers, owners, and operators
- International marina industry professionals
- Certified Marina Managers and Certified Marina Operators
- Boat builders and repairers
- Boatyard operators and managers
- Industry suppliers, manufacturers, and consultants
Submission Guidelines:
- IMBC will require all speakers to prepare a short video or article on their presentation topic, review attendee feedback on this piece, and adapt their presentation based on feedback.
- IMBC requires speakers to submit their approved presentation two (2) weeks prior to the start date of the conference.
- IMBC requires speakers to provide a handout to accompany the presentation, above and beyond their PowerPoint they prepare for their session. This is due by January 9, 2013.
- Presentations can be designed for intermediate to advanced levels of experience. Topics should be applied and customized to the tracks and technical areas mentioned above. IMBC requires the information be timely, informative, and educational.
- IMBC requires that all information presented in all seminars must be the intellectual property of the speaker or the speaker must have permission to use the information presented and give credit where due. IMBC will not be held responsible or liable for any plagiarism or copyright charges.
- Proposals that include overt company or product promotion will not be considered. Any logos or company names associated with the presentation must be limited to the last slide of all presentations (by submitting a proposal, you are agreeing to this). This is an opportunity for you to share knowledge and network with others in the industry and should not be viewed as a marketing exercise. IMBC offers many opportunities for marketing products and company information in other areas of the show.
