AMI Recognizes Newly Certified Marina Managers and Operators
CMMs and CMOs Honored at IMBC

Fort Lauderdale, FL—The Association of Marina Industries (AMI) Training Institute held its awards ceremony for new Certified Marina Managers (CMMs) and Certified Marina Operators (CMOs) Wednesday, January 15, at the AMI annual International Marina & Boatyard Conference (IMBC) in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.

This year the institute welcomes eight new Certified Marina Managers (CMMs) and six new Certified Marina Operators (CMOs) to this elite group of marina management professionals. There are currently 427 CMMs and 47 CMOs worldwide.

New CMMs and CMOs have completed the Intermediate Marina Management Course (IMM) and Advanced Marina Management Course (AMM). Upon completion of both courses, each marina manager/operator must submit an extensive CMM or CMO application for review and approval by the CMM/CMO review committee. This level of professional training and commitment sets each individual and their facility apart from others within the industry.

AMI’s Training Institute offers both the IMM and AMM courses twice a year and will add courses based upon need. Most recently, AMI added an IMM course in December 2019, in partnership with our neighbors to the North, Boating Ontario. This course was held in Barrie, Ontario. We trained 18 marina managers, 15 from the Ontario area. “This was the second year we headed to Canada to offer our marina management training. We have been met with open arms and marina managers eager to take their marina management skills to the next level. I am hopeful that we have created enough momentum to return with the course in the near future” said AMI’s Training Coordinator, Merritt Alves.

AMI’s Training Institute is currently headed to the west coast and offering the IMM course, February 9-13, 2020, in Seattle, Washington. Then we head back to Charleston, South Carolina, February 23-28, to run our sold-out AMM course.
