May 27 – Charting a Social Media Roadmap for Summer 2020
Speaker: Steven Chandler
The instant transparency, judgement and “risk” of social media can be compounded while navigating through or coming out of crisis. It also feels like differing opinions are greater than ever. Anything you share socially has the potential to be met with great criticism. It’s uncomfortable and even a little scary. Crisis communications require a road map for response. This webinar will outline some basics in evaluating the role of social media for your Marina during these times. We cannot put our heads in the sand. We will discuss how to use social media to build relationships for your brand so your business is stronger as we emerge out of this crisis.
In this webinar you will discover how to:
  • Build a social media road map that can be applied right now.
  • A review of best practices for you to implement on your own social channels.
  • Examples on how others are successfully leveraging social media today.

June 8 - Dousing the Marine Industry’s Pandemic of Stress
Speaker: Tim Herzog, EdD, CMPC, BCB
COVID-19 is wreaking havoc on people’s health and on their livelihoods. For any of us who have a passion for the water and/or a livelihood that depends on it, it is hard to be considered “non-essential.” Whether experiencing fears of getting sick, spreading contamination, having sick employees, struggling to keep a business afloat, or other stressors – there is no question that stress is in the air.  Dr. Tim Herzog, a clinical and sport psychologist, counselor, and performance coach will discuss:
  • The ABCs of Stress:  A formulaic approach to becoming more mindful of thoughts and to exert influence over those thoughts, to modulate stress and anxiety.
  • The Controllables Pie:  A simple but powerful way to categorize stressors, and to begin letting go.
  • The Psychophysiology of Breathing:  Science-based principles of breathing and optimal functioning that allow for improved resiliency.
Dr. Tim Herzog is a sport psychologist, an avid sailor, and a former college coach, who moved back east (to Annapolis, MD) from Bozeman, Montana in 2013. He loves being back on the water and working with sailors of all levels (including Olympic and America's Cup), and a slew of other peak performers, in his practice, Reaching Ahead Counseling and Mental Performance.
