Summer Intermediate Marina Management Course (IMM)

Offered June 23-27, 2019 in Fort Lauderdale, Florida

Warren, RI -The Association of Marina Industries (AMI) is offering its most popular training course, the Intermediate Marina Management Course (IMM), June 23-27, 2019 in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. It is the first step toward the highly coveted and internationally recognized Certified Marina Operator (CMO) and Certified Marina Manager (CMM) certification.

“I am trying to fill a void of summer courses for marina professionals who are in their high season during our regularly scheduled November and February IMM courses,” said AMI’s training coordinator, Merritt Alves. “I am hoping to capture marina managers from southern Florida, the Caribbean and Puerto Rico. However the course is open for all.” The only prerequisite for this course is one year of marina management experience.

The four-day, on location course engages liked minded marina professionals in an interactive classroom setting. The IMM course covers marina-specific topics including marina law, staff management, emergency response planning, environmental management, and health and safety compliance, human resource management and branding and marketing of your marina. Students spend a half day touring local marina facilities, exposing them to different marina operations and ideas. Graduates leave the course with more than a wealth of information. They leave, as well, as part of the network of fellow marina professionals who attended the course and with access to course instructors now and in the future.

The class fee – including hotel stay, breakfast, lunch and all course materials – is $2,995 for AMI member or $3,470 for non-members.

There are currently 400 Certified Marina Managers (CMMs) and 40 Certified Marina Operators (CMOS) worldwide, with many more on the road to certification in the coming years.
