Tours Facilities in and around West Palm Beach, Florida
Warren, RI - The Association of Marina Industries (AMI) has opened registration for its West Palm Beach, Florida, Marina 101 Course and Marina & Boatyard Study Tour. The course takes place on the afternoon of October 27th. The study tour spans two days — October 28 and 29, 2019. The course and study tour may be taken separately.

The Marina 101 Course is a four-hour marina industry introduction course geared towards individuals with little or no marina experience who may be looking to get into the industry by way of an advancement opportunity, career shift, or interest in purchasing or developing a marina.

The Marina and Boatyard Study Tour is a mobile classroom that takes participants on private, exclusive tours of Florida marinas and boatyards just a few days ahead of the Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show. The study tour will visit nine renowned facilities in the West Palm Beach area over the course of two days. At the end of each day, attendees take part in roundtable discussions that include in-depth reviews and SWOT (Strength, Weaknesses, Opportunities, and Threats) analyses. Facilities to be toured include: Safe Harbor New Port Cove, Suntex Marina at Riviera Beach, Sunset Bay Marina & Anchorage, Rybovich, Hinckley, Sailfish Point, and Safe Harbor North Palm Beach.

“These two full days of marina tours provide participants with a hands-on approach to leaning and professional development,” says Merritt Alves, AMI Training Coordinator. The SWOT analyses at the end of each day brings together information seen and heard throughout the day. Participants not only learn from the tours but also from each other during these discussions.”

Registration fees for the Marina 101 Course are $250 for AMI members and $299 for non-members and only $100 if you also register for the two-day study tour.

Included in the fee for the Marina & Boatyard Study Tour are: two nights stay (October 27-28) at our host hotel, Embassy Suite West Palm Beach; two breakfasts; two lunches; on-site transportation to and from each marina site visit; and a SWOT analysis collaboration at the conclusion of each day. The fee for the study tour is $1,195 for AMI members and $1,495 for non-members.
