Hall of Fame Speaker and Human Behavior Specialist to Speak at the AMI Conference & ExpoColette Carlson to Deliver Opening Keynote on the Importance of Self-Care for Leaders
Warren, RI — Colette Carlson will deliver the opening keynote address at the 2021 Virtual AMI Conference & Expo. This presentation, sponsored by HydroHoist, LLC, "YOU Management: Self-Care Strategies for Successful Leaders,” will be presented on Tuesday, February 3 at 12:15 p.m. EST.
Colette Carlson is the founder of Speak Your Truth, Inc. and is a human behavior expert and keynote speaker who inspires leaders to look inward and get real about self-care and understanding how their well-being is critical to an entire organization. With a Master’s Degree in Human Behavior, a fascination with communication trends, and extensive experience in the personal development industry for over 20 years, her presentation will be filled with information on successful business practices for leadership excellence. In this session, Colette will address the importance of self-care and offer tips for how you can consciously build it into everything you do throughout the day. From self-awareness to self-reflection, self-care is about beating the stress of everyday life in healthy ways, building a positive mindset, and increasing mental toughness.
Colette is a Certified Speaking Professional, a designation held by fewer than 10% of the members belonging to the
International Federation for Professional Speakers. In 2017, Colette was inducted into the Council of Peers Award for Excellence Speaker Hall of Fame®, a lifetime award that honors professional speakers who have reached the top echelon of platform excellence. Her articles have been featured in Success, Business Management Daily, and Working Mother magazines. Clients include Boeing, Microsoft, Cisco, Pepsi, Procter & Gamble, Shell, Great Clips, Davidson Hotels, and the United States Government.
“Self-care is one of those things that just never seems to be a priority—when it should be,” says AMI Chair, Chris Petty. “Colette puts into perspective just how important self-care is, and she provides simple strategies that leaders can put into place today. This topic is timely and particularly important during these unsettling times—when we are managing our teams through grief, isolation, and a rapid pace of change and uncertainty. We need to care for ourselves so we can care for others. We are very excited to have Colette opening up the conference this year.”
Following her keynote address, Colette will deliver a 60-minute breakout session, “YOU Management Deep Dive: Staying Resilient When You Are in Charge,” where she will ask the attendees to come prepared to roll up their sleeves, reflect, and take a deeper dive into the strategies and habits to stay resilient in an environment riddled with ambiguity and change. This session is scheduled for 3:00 p.m. EST.
